•          Uses transistors to store data and doesn’t need to be refreshed

•          SRAM is used for L1 and L2 cache memory

•          Physically bigger (x10) than DRAM

•            Dynamic RAM (DRAM)

•          Uses a series of tiny capacitors to store data, which need to be refreshed regularly

•          ¼ the speed of SRAM

•          Needs to be constantly refreshed
